There are just two more days left to register for a wonderful nature-inspired holiday craft class at the Grimes Farm and Conservation Center. Adults and children are invited to participate.
On Tuesday, December 12th from 11:30 A.M. t0 12:30 P.M., Grimes Farm will be hosting a Nature Ornaments class, giving participants the chance to make five nature ornaments that they will get to bring home for their tree. The participants will be using materials from nature like acorns and pine cones to make evergreen salt dough ornaments, tree cookie holiday ornaments, acorn capped jingle bells, and more!
“This fun hands on craft session is all about getting into the holiday season. It will also give you the opportunity to learn how to make some fun and easy ornaments that can make great gifts for the loved ones” -Emily Herring, Naturalist.
There is a registration fee of $15 which will include all materials for the class. Participants must pre-register and pay before December 5th by calling Grimes Farm and Conservation Center at 641-754-5490.
Though the crafts aren’t hard, participants will be using hot glue guns and a little dexterity is needed so over the age of 5 is recommended. Parents are the best judges whether their child would do well with this type of activity and finally all children need to be accompanied by an adult. This could be the perfect holiday outing for homeschoolers or any adult looking to get into the spirit of the season!
