Friday, February 9

To the Moon and Back, 11th Annual Daddy Daughter Dance – 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Marshalltown YMCA. The 11th annual Daddy Daughter Dance is designed for girls in preschool through 3rd grade to dress up in ball attire and invite dad, uncle, grandpa, or brother for a very special evening of dancing under the stars! Participants may register January 8 through February 7th. Register at the Y service desk or online at www.ymca-ywca.org. Registration is NOT AVAILABLE after February 7th or at the event. IF Gathering Simulcast – 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday session (see below for Saturday times). IF Gathering: “WE EXIST TO GATHER, EQUIP AND UNLEASH THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN TO LIVE OUT THEIR PURPOSE.”
You may come to part or all of it. There will be over 2,100 simulcast gatherings around the world, and you can connect right here in Marshalltown, IA. We will meet at the Trosen house at 302 N 8th Street in Marshalltown.

Saturday, February 10

Pancake Breakfast – 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hope United Methodist Church. This yummy breakfast is sponsored by Boy Scout Troop 310 and features pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Tickets are $5. Children 5 and under Free

IF Gathering Simulcast – 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM (see above for Friday times) hosted by Restore Church. IF Gathering: “WE EXIST TO GATHER, EQUIP AND UNLEASH THE NEXT GENERATION OF WOMEN TO LIVE OUT THEIR PURPOSE.” You may come to part or all of it. There will be over 2,100 simulcast gatherings around the world, and you can connect in Marshalltown, IA. There will be a meeting at the Trosen house at 302 N 8th Street in Marshalltown.

Art from the Heart Craft Show – 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Fisher Community Center. Crafters and vendors will be sending handmade gifts which could be perfect for your valentine! There will be door prize drawings throughout the day and everyone gets one free entry into the drawing. Additional tickets can be purchased for $1 and the money goes towards a local animal rescue organization called Iowa Stars for Animals. Gift wrapping also available from 10-2:30.

Mardi Gras with Nola Jazz Band 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM – This band from Des Moines has performed a number of times in New Orleans, and has a national following. Beignets, a Cajun donut, will be provided at every table. And you get beads to wear, and there is a New Orleans wine cooler offered for sale. Tickets can be purchased in advance by contacting the Orpheum Theater Center at 641-844-5920, or at the door on the night of the performance. Tickets are $15.00 per person. Orpheum Black Box

Baile Para Enamorar – 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM at Impala Ballroom – Asiste y Diviertete con Buena Musica a cargo de sus Amigos de la Esencia de la Banda Directamente desde Omaha para complacerlos con Mucha Musica Romantica para Todas Las Parejitas y Para tod@s Aquell@s que Andan Conquistando Corazones.

Sunday, February 11

Chess Club – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Marshalltown Public Library. Chess Club is 2nd & 4th Sundays of each month, 1-3 p.m. Beginners welcome, with help learning from our volunteer coordinator from1-2; experienced players may come anytime, 1-3. No pre-registration is required for this program; all players need to sign in. Kids, teens, and adults are welcome.
Two On Tap – 2:00 PM February 11 at the MHS/Community Auditorium. Melissa Giattino and Ron DeStefano take you to the days when Fred & Ginger and Mickey & Judy filled the screen with undeniable chemistry, effortless harmony and precision tap dancing. Gorgeous vocals, exciting choreography and unique musical arrangements. This duo breaths new life into classic song-and-dance.
