As a Marshalltown Mom of two children A (DD just shy of three years old) and J (DS 6 months), I was thrilled to learn of a new place to play! Let’s Play Bounce opened December 2016 at Meadow Lane Mall in the old Aaron’s store.
When taking my children to play there are several factors I’m looking for: quality, ease of play, access to restrooms, cleanliness, & friendliness of staff. I was not disappointed on our visit last week! I was met with smiles, guided through the different features of the facility, the employee interacted with my children, and answered my questions with certainty and professionalism.
The bathrooms are conveniently located near the entrance. I found them to be clean and was comfortable taking in my training-toddler-tagalong. They also provide diaper changing stations! (Woot!)
Upon entry (after payment, and verifying our child safety waivers), we removed our shoes and looked around. There are several storage units on the wall for belongings, as well as tables and chairs. The main play area floor is comprised of multicolored puzzle tiles; these are both easy to clean, and offer a soft landing for new walkers! These floors do have a socks-only requirement. If you leave yours behind, no worries! They provide clean, packaged pairs at the front desk for $4. They even come in fun colors!
My daughter, A, immediately went to the back to visit the Toddler Play Zone. This gated-in area, for children ages 4 and under, featured one large inflatable with a slide and fun scenery to bounce from. There were also toys for young toddlers and infants to enjoy, a kitchenette with play food, and a train table. There are folding chairs provided all throughout the business so that parents can comfortably supervise their family! Once A acclimated herself to the play equipment she was serving us treats, and going down the slides again and again! J enjoyed laying and beating a swinging toy ball.
I learned that each of their six inflatables is anchored to the floor for extra stability! I also appreciated their open floor plan, I could view my daughter from multiple angles. This is essential for me because I created a hide-and-seek champion! (Your child is like this too… right?)
In addition to providing all season play, Let’s Play Bounce also offers to host your Birthday Party in their neatly decorated party room. They provide the cups, plates, napkins, utensils and clean up (every mother’s dream!). Utilizing their party room is the only way to bring outside food and drink to their building. If you need a snack, they offer a variety of snacks and beverages at the front counter.
Now to discuss pricing! While their entry fee is FREE for crawlers, $5 for walkers – age 2, and $8 for 3 to 12 years, for the quality equipment and needs to keep it clean and functioning, I found the price to be fair, especially given the hospital grade cleaning product used several times a day that helps protect our children against virucide, fungicide, mildewstat and kills H1N1 Infuenza A. Parents and guardians age 13+ have no entrance fee.
They have Bags, Skee Ball, two arcade-style Basketball hoops, and Air Hockey to entertain teens and adults alike! My husband aced all eight of his bags into the opposite hole. The most I made in a single session was three!
Though there are employees consistently circulating the facility, it is listed in the rules that the supervision of your children is YOUR responsibility, and to be sure to report any incidents prior to leaving.
Five dollars got my family and me out of the cold in a clean and safe environment, my daughter ran herself exhausted in the 1.5-hour allotment you receive, and my son could interact with toys and people aside from his usual four walls.
Will we go back? DEFINITELY. Probably tomorrow, actually! See you there! 🙂
